Passaat and Poseidon at the Shipyard Photo's
From Monday 12 – Tuesday 20 March both ships were at one of the shipyards in Leeuwarden. We had good weather; sunny, dry and little wind. Both ships were taken out of the water, sprayed clean and given an new coat of anti-fowling. A smooth clean surface improves the speed considerably and makes for more enjoyable sailing as much for the crew as the guests.
We also painted the ships, checked the ankers and put both ships in for their official inspection. We’re pleased that they met all the requirements of the inspecting authority, so now we’re all ready to set sail again and to enjoy sun & wind.

Deck cushions
It’s becoming increasingly comfortable on board. As well as actively sailing there is also plenty of time to relax and following the suggestions of several guests we have acquired a number of deck cushions for the Poseidon. These are securely fastened down so you don’t need to worry about the wind blowing them over board.

Restaurant “De 2 Broertjes”
Kookstudio Le Chef, run by Leo Steenbergen, is our regular caterer and many of our guests have enjoyed his culinary expertise over the years. Now with partner Berend Plas, Leo has opened restaurant “De 2 Broertjes” near the harbour on the Grote Bredeplaats.
An ideal spot for a meal before or after your sailing trip in this nautical restaurant offering regional food. Main meals from € 9.50. For reservations call 0517 413200.

Fresh bread
A new service from Zonnewind Zeilreizen.
Fresh bread for breakfast, straight out of the oven and delivered on board.
The bread is delivered on board at 8.00 am on Saturday morning for weekend groups.

Photo competition 2007
We’d like to invite all recipients of the Zonnewind newsletter and guests on board the Passaat or Poseidon to take part in our Photo Competition 2007.
This year’s theme is: Sailing on the Waddenzee

E-mail your photo to Zonnewind Zeilreizen and every month (from May to October) we will select the 3 best photos and place them on the Zonnewind website.
1st prize sweater with logo Passaat/Poseidon (navy blue, size S – XXL)
2nd prize t-shirt with logo (navy blue, size S – XXL)
3rd prize cap with logo (orange, khaki or navy blue)
The main prize for the best picture of the season is a voucher worth € 200,= This can be used for a sailing trip on the Passaat or Poseidon.
The winning photos will be chosen by a jury of 3 Waddenzee experts from Zonnewind. The prizes will be sent to you and the photos published on our website.
Zonnewind Zeilreizen will retain the publishing rights to all photos submitted.

Fleet day 2007
The annual Fleet Day takes place this year on 14th April in the Noorderhaven which has been classified as a monument. All the ships based in Harlingen will be present. There’s also a nautical market, decorated ships in the harbour, plenty of activities to entertain the children and refreshments. Zonnewind Zeilreizen will also be present and serving hot chocolate.
Take part in the “Fleet Day puzzle” and don’t miss the chance to win a sailing weekend for 2 people. Puzzles can be handed in on the Fleet Day at the Terras van de Vloten.

Last-minute trips
For those quick off the mark there’s still the chance to join one of our individual sailing weekends on 6-8th April and 13-15th April. The price is €120,= (including food and drinks).
