1. Work on the ships
In November a stability test, required by law, was carried out on both the Passaat and the Poseidon. The test calculates how much force is required to tip the ship to a certain angle and how much force the ship has to counter this. The maximum angle of inclination permitted by a sailing ship is 20 degrees. Both ships passed the test.

All the masts and spars of the Poseidon were also checked in November.

The rigging of the Passaat has officially been inspected, including all blocks, halyards and sheets.

After all these tests, we’re now busy adapting the engine rooms to comply with new regulations. The air ventilation grates must be able to be sealed so there are now new hatches that can be closed.

The engine room of the Poseidon has also had a fresh coat of paint.

2. Christmas discount for early bookings
We are offering a special Christmas discount for early bookings. This applies to reservations made before 31 January for the following periods:

Passaat: Whit weekend from 2-5 June 2006. The price for a group of max. 28 people is   € 3970,=. Christmas discount for reservations made in December or January is € 300,=. The price then is € 3670,=.

Poseidon: Whit weekend from 2-5 June 2006. The price for a group of max. 32 people is € 4570,=. Christmas discount for reservations made in December or January is € 300,=. The price then is € 4270,=.

3. Individual trips programme
These trips are ideal for the individual sailor, whether for a weekend or longer. Whilst the main focus is sailing, we also offer a combination with one of three other activities; walking, cycling or horse riding. The choice is yours!

Sailing weekend on the Passaat to Terschelling from 7-9 April and 13-15 October.

All in price (including food and drinks) € 120,= p.p.

Island-hopping on the Waddenzee.

Walking/cycling/horse riding trip Passaat / Poseidon from 9-12 April, 21-24 May and 15-18 October. All in price (including food and drinks) € 240,= / € 250,= / € 295,= p.p.

Summer sailing weekend to Terschelling on the Passaat / Poseidon from 4-6 August. All in price (including food and drinks) € 180,= p.p.

Children under 4 years free, children up to 12 years pay 1/2 price, young people up to 16 years pay 2/3 price. (This applies to all the trips.)

4. Crew 2006
The crew for the 2006 season is complete. On the Poseidon is our regular skipper Mischja Hammersma and the mate is once again Cil Bleijerveld.

The skipper of the Passaat is Jeroen Peters and the mate Monika Otto. Monika already has a year’s experience as a mate on a charter ship and will join us on board the Passaat.
