| The Brandarisrace with the start in Harlingen, the finish at the entrance of the Slenk and an after-party on Terschelling. The category of the large clippers was well represented with 29 clippers, the start was in the Kimstergat at 10.30 am. With an easterly wind the fleet literally flew along the Pollendam. All the stops were pulled out and clouds of sails raced over the water in the morning mist. The Passaat got off to a good start and was straight in amoungst the frontrunners. The Waterwolf passed in the Blauwe Slenk and in the Meep the ship had to tack against current and wind. Good tactics and great spirit finally landed the Passaat the fourth place. Congratulations! |
